Our purpose
Leelanau Soccer Club exists to give the kids of our county fun, affordable soccer. We do that above all through recreational (“rec”) soccer, U5 to U12.
LSC United offers a more competitive, but still affordable, option: extra practice and tournament play. It’s for players who want more soccer and take it seriously. As they improve, the standard of play across the county rises, which keeps rec strong for everyone. Why we started United
What we believe
- Every player can and will develop: skills, sportsmanship, good practice habits and confidence, on and off the field.
- Wanting to play is what drives a player’s development.
- Players grow at their own pace. Understanding of the game develops over time, so what we expect of a player must fit their age and maturity.
- Small-sided games are how we teach. Coaches are trained to use them, because they give every child more touches on the ball, and with them the skill and confidence to make creative decisions in a game.
- Keep it positive. Encouragement teaches more than criticism, especially at U12 and younger.
